STACEY BOWDEN
SIGNS WITH WAYNE STATE
August 15, 1999
Stacey Bowden, along with Amy Peters, became the first players to sign with the newly formed
Wayne State University Warriors women's ice hockey team. Both players inked full scholarships
for the inaugural season of Division I hockey in the state of Michigan. The team will play an exhibition schedule
against other DI schools like Niagara, Findlay and Bemidji State as well as club teams like Michigan
and Michigan State. Bowden was quite happy to sign as she will get to play for coach Tom O'Malley
who left a successful program at Boston College to build the Warriors. The team will sport equipment made
by Easton however Vaughn will provide Bowden's equipment.
